The purpose of the M.A.M. Project is twofold:

1. to provide mothers on welfare with the necessary emotional support as they make the transition from welfare to work

2. to teach mothers of children ranging in age from 3 to 8 years, how they can best help their children succeed in school during these critical early years.

The project establishes support groups while training women to become project trainers. The M.A.M. Project is funded by The Schumann Fund.
