Prenatal Outreach

Who is eligible?

Pregnant women, new mothers and their babies (up to two years of age) living in East Orange. We do not require proof of income.

What services does the program offer?

Our Healthy Start Mother & Child Program offers case management to ensure that women recieve the prenatal services they need, as well as after the baby is born,ongoing parenting classes and educational workshops.  We can provide mothers with emergency baby items such as diapers, wipes, baby oil and powder. 

We provide refferals to women when needed for such services as: WIC, health care, Medicaid, food pantries, and public assistance.  We also provide bus tickets for prenatal, post partum and pediatric appointments.

Our program does NOT provide clinical health care (check ups, blood test, etc) or pregnancy testing.

How do I enroll?

You can visit our office at 606 Central Aveune in East Orange, NJ. Our office hours are Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 6pm and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 5pm.  No appointment is needed.

If you are enrolling with your child who is younger than two years old, please bring that child's immunization records (yellow card).

Is there a charge for services or items provided?

All services provided by the Isaiah House Healthy Start Mother & Child Program are FREE of charge.

Do you accept minors without adult supervision?

Yes. Many teens are enrolled in our program without adult supervision.

Do you work with fathers?

 

Yes.  We are happy to work with fathers and can refer you to additional services for men.  Fathers are welcome at all of our educational programs.
