Community Group Giving
Congregations, schools, block associations and teams — drives, collections and sponsored need, organized with us.
A group can do what a person cannot.
One family arriving needs nappies, toiletries, towels, school supplies and a coat that fits. A congregation, a class or a street can assemble that in a fortnight without anyone noticing the cost.
These are also the things public funding is worst at buying, which is why a drive is worth more than its receipt.
Ways a group gets involved
Run a drive. Tell us when, and we will tell you what we are short of that month rather than what we were short of last year.
Adopt a family for a season — the school year, the winter, the holidays — so the same people are covered for a stretch instead of once.
Give a morning. The pantry serves 8,000 neighbors a year and runs on people who turn up. Groups are welcome, and so is a family with children old enough to help.
Sponsor nights. $150 keeps a mother and child safe for one night, which makes a collection easy to explain and easy to total up.

Contact us before you collect. Five minutes on the phone is the difference between forty coats we can hand out this week and forty coats in the wrong sizes.
