Be a Cornerstone
The Cornerstone Society is a five-year pledge, from $1,000 a year, and every family who makes it is painted onto the wall at 238 North Munn Avenue.
The wall at 238 North Munn Avenue.
Every family on this tree has committed to Isaiah House for five years. Not a one-off gift at the end of a hard year — a standing promise that the door stays open, the beds stay made and the pantry stays stocked, whatever happens to public funding.
That is what a cornerstone is. It is the part of the building everything else rests on, and it is why we ask for the commitment in years rather than in dollars.

The members
Twenty-one families, companies and individuals have made the pledge so far. Every one of them is painted onto the tree.

What your pledge does
Isaiah House serves over 12,000 individuals a year — emergency shelter, mental health services, food, daycare and more. A Cornerstone gift is unrestricted, which is the rarest and most useful kind: it lets us answer a need in the week it appears rather than in the quarter a grant allows.
It funds the things that are hardest to raise money for and hardest to do without — the pantry when demand jumps, the recovery services, workforce training, and the help that keeps a family in the home they already have.
What you are part of
Members are recognized in our annual report, invited to private events and site visits, and honored on the Cornerstone Society Wall at 238 North Munn Avenue — the tree above. You will hear what happened, by name and by number, from the people who did it.
90% of our budget comes from public funds
Public funding is shrinking quickly, and the cost of a night of shelter is not. Multi-year private commitments are the only thing that lets an organization like this plan beyond the next budget cycle.
A Cornerstone pledge now is worth more than a larger gift later, because it is the one that makes it possible to plan for next year.
