Special Day Fundraising

Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, memorials — ask for a family to be housed instead of a gift.

Ask for a room instead of a gift.

A birthday, a wedding, an anniversary, a memorial, a race you were going to run anyway. Any of them can be pointed at a family instead, and most people would rather give that than another candle.

At $150 a night, a modest birthday covers a fortnight of somewhere safe to sleep. A wedding list covers a season.

In memory

A memorial gift is the one we handle most carefully. Tell us the name and we will acknowledge every gift to the family, without publishing anything you have not asked us to publish.

How it works

Set up a page and share it, or collect however suits you and send it on in one go — a check and a note works as well as anything.

Tell us what the occasion was. We will write back and say what the money did, which is a better thank-you letter than anything we could compose in advance.

If you would like to mark the occasion more permanently, the Cornerstone Society puts a family name on the wall at 238 North Munn Avenue.

$150 keeps a mother and child safe for one night.

Isaiah House is 90% publicly funded, in a climate where that funding is shrinking. Private giving is what keeps the room ready.
